Inspirational "Women's Challenge" Take away.

"Women's Challenge Weekend" MBTBC - 15th 16th May 2021 was an absolute WOW FACTOR

with only two types of women present...

Women being Inspiring...

with guest speaker Lisa Blair -

After 3.5 years of planning and gathering funds Lisa set off on January 22nd, 2017 from Albany in WA with the goal of becoming the first woman to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around Antarctica with the secondary goal of breaking the current record of 102 days held by Russia.

And also Stacey Jackson -

Stacey is recognised as one of the world’s leading female professional offshore sailors. She is one of very few women to have competed in two editions of the Volvo Ocean Race, the pinnacle of offshore yacht racing, where she has competed in both an all womens’ crew (2014-2015) and a mixed crew (2017-2018).

She has also completed 13 Sydney Hobart races, including winning Line Honours in 2010, as well as creating and skippering a history making first all female professional crew in 2018, who placed second overall.

Both of these amazing women shared their knowledge and wisdom candidly with other seasoned sailors who added value and purpose to the event including Becky Maloney, Jane Virtue, Sylvia Talbot, Sally Crowley, Lynley Vinton, Lisa Palethorpe amongst a few who inspired everyone to create an amazing weekend.

Women being Inspired...

With all types of women of all ages from those who have never sailed or stepped foot on a boat but thoroughly enjoying an opportunity to learn with confidence supported by everyone with a "Give it a go."

Congratulations to all that attended to make this event a platform for growth and motivation to all women sailing and enjoying Moreton Bay's playground.
