Good morning Skippers and Crew!

Thank you for all taking part in the MCC Series XMAS in July Weekend! 52 boats took part with 48 boats recording results in the initially light / variable conditions. Sunday's Race 8 of the Series saw the wind fill in early and make for some perfect sailing conditions. RESULTS for both days are available on SailSYS. Please email any queries into the Committee. Thanks also to the Manly Harbour Boat Club (MBTBC) for hosting the Xmas in July Dinner. A delicious 3 course meal with roast Pork and Crackling. It was great to see and catch up with many of you on the night. Thanks also to the club for allowing the TSC of QLD boats tie up to the pontoon. It made for a very short walk home! Race 9 of the MCC Series is in only 2 weeks time! So please organise your crews. Sub Series 2 Results for the Presentation Dinner are being hotly contested. Chris and Sue off of Scarlett (with two T's) made their presence known after a few months tapering for a big end of year blitz! The 2014 MCC CALENDAR will be uploaded soon!

A 15 Race Series next year to give everyone more chances to get out on the water! Races have been scheduled around, after or before all other major sailing events on the bay. The program includes: • A weekend of sailing in February in collaboration with WMYC’s ‘Founders Trophy Regatta’ • A weekend of sailing in May in collaboration with RQYS’s ‘Canaipa Cup’ • A new two-day event in September to complete the season, known as ‘The Big Weekend’, involving a longer passage event (40-50nm Div 1, 25nm Div 2) on the SAT and two triangle races on the SUN

We have attempted to keep as clear as possible of other events such as: • Surf to City (Sat Jan 27th) • B2G (Fri Mar 29th) • B2K (Thu Jun 21st?) • St Helena Cup (Early October) • Full Moons for Kingfisher (Feb 24th and Mar 16th) And the tides for each of these days are OK.

The proposed MCC program is: • R1: Jan 21st • R2 & R3 : Feb 17th & 18th – in collaboration with WMYC’s ‘Founder’s Trophy Regatta’ • R4: Mar 3rd • R5: Apr 14th • R6: May 12th • R7 & R8: May 25th & 26th - in collaboration with RQYS’s ‘Canaipa Cup’ • R9: Jun 16th • R10: Jul 14th • R11: Aug 4th • R12: Aug 25th • R13, R14 & R15: Sep 21st & 22nd - The ‘Big Weekend’ involving a longer passage race on SAT and two Triangles Races on the SUN….as the finale to the season…and as a bit of an entree to the October events.

That’s 11 weekends for 15 races; and sees us finish well before the events in October. We can make it 15 scoring races with 4 drops, in order that those that are away for Hamilton Island Race week are not overly disadvantaged, while racing for everyone else continues. Stay safe and good luck in Race 9, your MCC Committee
